GOP officials said Wednesday there are no current plans to change Romney's convention schedule and emphasized that no decisions had been made about a visit.

But with rain beating down on New Orleans and the flooding intensifying as the Republican convention continues in Tampa, Fla., there's increasing focus on a storm that threatens to overshadow the celebration of Romney's nomination.

Campaign officials are holding regular conference calls about the weather and are in close touch with governors in the affected states, particularly Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal. Romney also is getting regular updates from those officials.

Romney was flying to Indiana on Wednesday to address the American Legion.
