Acting Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp says police responded to the Rockaway Township home on Tuesday after getting a 911 call from 52-year-old Darren Kent. Knapp says officers smelled raw marijuana when they arrived, and a subsequent search uncovered systems for lighting, irrigation and ventilation along with harvested marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Kent faces several charges, including possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and maintaining a controlled dangerous substance production facility. His bail was set at $300,000.

Kent's 56-year-old wife, Donna, was pronounced dead at the scene. Foul play is not suspected, but a cause of death has not been determined.
