Investigators believe the death of a northern New Jersey man killed while working with heavy machinery in his backyard this weekend was an accident.

But they've released few details regarding the death of 65-year-old Robert Gibbons.

Capt. Jeffrey Paul of the Morris County Prosecutor's Office says Gibbons was pronounced dead at 2:45 p.m. Friday, about 45 minutes after he was hurt in the accident at his Rockaway Township home.

But Paul has declined further comment on the matter and would not say what kind of machinery Gibbons was using or how the accident occurred.

The death remained under investigation Sunday.
