ROCKAWAY TOWNSHIP — A police officer accused of sexually assaulting two teenage girls has been released from jail.

A judge ruled Monday that Wilfredo Guzman must wear an electronic monitoring bracelet and can't have any contact with the girls.

Morris County prosecutors say the 44-year-old Rockaway resident provided both girls with alcohol and prescription medication and engaged in sex acts with them.

The alleged assaults occurred in 2014 and 2015. Authorities say one girl was between 16 and 17 at the time, while the other was 15.

Authorities say the charges came after one of the victims reported the assaults to police last week.

Guzman has served on the Rockaway force since 2003. He faces four counts of child endangerment and two counts of sexual assault.

Guzman's lawyer declined comment.
