ROBBINSVILLE — The president of the Board of Education has submitted his resignation following his arrest for alleged drunk driving.

Robbinsville School Superintendent Kathie Foster said in a statement Matthew O'Grady turned in his resignation on Thursday morning. The board will officially accept his resignation on Tuesday.

Police said O’Grady, 45, was stopped on South Main Street around 8:30 p.m. on Sunday and charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to stop, reckless driving and refusal to submit breath samples.

O’Grady was also charged with DWI in a school zone because the stop happened close to Peddie School and Hightstown High School.

O’Grady was released from custody after his arrest pending a future court date.

CentralJersey.com reported O'Grady previously stepped down from the Robbinsville board because of a job necessitated moved to Ohio for 2011. He came back back to New Jersey in 2012 and was appointed to the board to fill a vacancy.
