RIDGEFIELD  — Police say an SUV burst into flames after crashing into a North Jersey woman's home, injuring the woman who is said to be in her 90s.

Ridgefield police say the woman was sitting in her home when the vehicle came careening through the wall around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Authorities say the vehicle then burst into flames and the driver fled the scene.

The driver has not been apprehended as of Wednesday night.

The woman suffered minor leg injuries. A group of neighbors rushed into the home after the crash and took her to safety.

Police say the crash resulted from a case of "road rage," where the suspect was chasing down another driver.

Authorities say the woman is recovering at a local hospital with her family.
