A Rider University student from Union City died early Saturday morning in an accident involving a school bus.

University President Mordechai Rozanski identified the student as Eliseo Diaz, a senior from Union City  in a statement on the school website. Counseling services were made available to students at the counseling center. University Chaplains and the Dean of Stiudents office.

NBC Philadelphia reports the student died when the car struck a school bus marked "First Student" as the bus pulled onto Route 206 from the school's south entrance after the bus had let some students off at the Lawrenceville campus around 2 a.m.

The car was being driven at high speed speeding with no lights, authorities said. The bus was one of four leaving campus and had no passengers on board according to the television station.

There is no word on other injuries. No tickets have yet been issued in the crash according to the Times of Trenton.
