The Star-Ledger reports Christie will pick Lee Solomon, a Superior Court Judge in Camden County who formerly served as a state and federal prosecutor and was president of the state Board of Public Utilities.

The newspaper cited people familiar with the selection process. Christie administration officials told The Associated Press they would not confirm the report, and Solomon did not respond to requests for comment.

Solomon, a 57-year-old Haddonfield resident, also served in the state Assembly for five years and was a Camden County freeholder.

The Republican governor has had difficulties filling seats on the state's top court. Democratic lawmakers have blocked his last two nominees.
