Yesterday we acknowledged the 241st birthday of the United States Marine Corps.  I was a proud member of the USMC as an enlisted reservist from 1991 until my honorable discharge in 1999.  God Bless the men and women who serve today making sure that American liberty and prosperity are protected from our enemies.  We continue to pray for the Marines and their families as they do the work of heroes on a daily basis.  Semper Fidelis Marines.  

Today is Veterans Day, a day we set aside to acknowledge the sacrifice of those bravest members of our society who sacrificed so much for so many.  I'm proud to honor veterans as they are a constant reminder that our freedom isn't free.  There's an honor in serving our nation.  Every President has made important and relevant remarks on the holiday and I think this quote from President Reagan sums up that honor that we owe our veterans the best:

Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same. – Ronald Reagan
