Thursday morning at about 9:10 a.m., Bill Spadea will a couple of special guests to the New Jersey 101.5 studio — a pair of lion cubs from Six Flags Great Adventure Safari. UPDATE: Watch the video recording of the visit above.

Everyone's excited. Everyone ... besides me.

People are coming in early and the studio will look like Penn Station on a Wednesday afternoon, with the number of people who will suddenly have business in the studio. Bill will take it all in stride ... but these are lions. They're wild animal that would not hesitate to eat any one of us.

Here are my top 5 reasons a lion cub doesn't belong in a radio station.

    They Might Bite Bill

There's a lot going on. What if a cub gets spooked by a sudden noise or move and lashes out at Bill? Double Double could get hurt prying the cub off Bill, and someone's point-ing finger could get injured.

    They Could Get Sick

A hot day and a long ride over to the studio from Six Flags Great Adventure are not a good combination for anyone, let alone a lion cub not used to traveling. They could get sick and leave behind a stinky mess for someone (like me) to clean up. Maybe even a smell that would live forever in the studio carpet.

With A Might Roar, Bob Williams is Scared Voiceless

With all that commotion in the studio it could jump up on the table and scare Bob Williams with a mighty roar. Look how he reacts to a puppy! Bob could lose his voice, screaming in fear. His craft. His means of living.

I Don't Come To The Zoo To Work

I've worked outside the newsroom plenty of times. Starbucks, waiting rooms, Dunkin' Donuts and hospitals. But I don't go to the lion cubs' domain at the Safari at Six Flags Great Adventure to work, and they shouldn't come to my office to growl.

    They're Lions!

They're lions. This is a radio station studio with expensive equipment. One false move by the lion cubs and BOOM we're off the air.

Or, alternately ... their cuteness overwhelms everyone to the point where no one is paying attention. Not that they usually are, anyway.
