Saturday night I hosted “Battle Millstone” at the Millstone Performing Arts Center. This battle of the bands featured 10 acts vying for a chance to win a $00 dollar grand prize, a $200 hundred dollar second prize and the top three winners get to play at Great Adventure’s “Fright Fest”

Among the judges were Frank Jeckell and Mick Mansuetto whom you may remember as the 1910 Fruitgum Company. Another example of the great talent to come out of jersey with their 60’s hits “Simon Says” “Indian Giver” and “123 RedLight” which I play when I talk about those hated red light cameras! Patricia Stevens is the Live and Local Program Founder and Coordinator for Six Flags Great Adventure, Hurricane Harbor, and Wild Safari, and Rachel Cohen a recreational Supervisor with the Monmouth County Parks System.

Congratulations to the winners! Coming in first was “Reality Check featuring Dana Hembling, Mike Cappelluti, Jake Hoffman, Tom Heider, and Billy Nally.

Second place went to The Fifth Down from the Red Bank area with George Ford, Elias Kotsis, Bobby Lussier, Kyle Murphy and Ethan Wagner, and finishing third “The Antics with Luke Meisenbacher, Dereck Rosengarth, Kyle Hammerschmidt and Josh Reitan.
