"They're real and they're spectacular." Christmas Eve is exactly three weeks away, and those who are celebrating will most likely be putting up a tree and decorating it before December 25th arrives. When faced with this task, do you prefer a real Christmas tree or a fake one?

Real Christmas trees come with a fresh scent, are more traditional and help support the local economy. Not to mention, you can go and chop one down and bring it home with you. Speaking from experience, it's an awesome family tradition. You will, however, be dealing with a mess. Pine needles as far as the eye can see. If you aren't careful with the watering process, you could also end up with the tree drying out rather quickly. When I was younger, we finally found a real tree that we liked, and two days later the entire thing was dead.

If you go the fake Christmas tree route, you save money and they're reusable. If you really want to cut right to the chase, or don't like spending quality time with your family, you can even buy a tree that comes pre-decorated.

Both options have their upsides. I think the ultimate debate comes down to tradition vs. convenience. I know I came down hard on the pre-decorated tree folks, but the truth is, sometimes it just makes more sense to streamline the process.

Which one do you prefer, real or fake? Take our poll and share your thoughts in the comment section below.
