For years, the U.S. Postal Service has been struggling financially. Beginning in August, they are taking drastic steps to cut back. Saturday mail delivery is going bye bye, unless you have a package coming to you.

Officials feel it will save about $2-billion-dollars annually. Reactions continue to pour in over the decision announced Wednesday.

I spent much of the morning in and around post offices in Ocean County. Many of the people I talked to were mixed. I noticed most of the people for the change were younger, ages 25 to about 50. Senior citzens seemed to have more of a beef with the idea. Although my questioning was direct about what they felt, several took the opportunity at voicing their displeasure for the entire agency and postal system as a whole.

Some comments from people that were notable included: a full on tirade about how stamps have been going up in price, the mail appearing to be slower than normal in getting to the destination, and even criticism about how mail trucks pull off to the side before jetting back into traffic - and the lack of more than one or two clerks inside post offices.
