I got the flip-flops, the shorts, and the tee shirt ready; and I’ve already got in mind the folks I’d like to challenge to take the “Ice Bucket Challenge” for ALS.
Now all it’s going to take is for me to bring the ice and bucket along – and whoop dee doo – we’re off to the races.

Last night, when I walked into the radio station, I was challenged by news goddess Toniann Antonelli.

At first I thought, “hmmmm, maybe giving the hundred dollar check would be more to my liking!”

But what fun is that? Besides, if the big guy from Mendham can do it, and not even flinch, then why not me?

He was challenged to the ice bucket stunt by Scott O'Neil, the CEO of the New Jersey Devils.
Christie also nominated three others to take the challenge: U.S. Sen. Cory Booker, Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon, and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.

"You now have 24 hours to accept the challenge or you have to write a hundred-dollar check to the ALS foundation," Christie told the three.

Anyone who’s read the book “Tuesdays with Morrie”, or seen the movie starring Hank Azaria and Jack Lemmon knows the story of how a sportswriter from Detroit makes time over the course of 14 Tuesdays to visit with his former sociology professor who’s been stricken with the disease; and how it robs you of everyday things you take for granted - like the ability to walk, swallow, talk, even breathe.

So how could I possibly say no!

I can feel the “chicken skin” already.
