The South Jersey mom who shot her three children and turned the gun on herself has died.  And with her death, the answer to the biggest question:  Why?  44-year old Jeannine Lepage used a pillow to muffle the sounds of the gun as she methodically executed her 14-year old son and 11-year-old daughter in her bed.  A third child survived a gunshot but remains in extremely critical condition. Friends have said Lepage had deep financial problems and one even suggested she warned this would happen, but police wont confirm that.

We have an amber alert to draw your attention to.  It was issued in New York for a 3-month old boy abducted by his father last night.  Police think the dad, Johnathan Lawrence, may be headed to New Jersey.  He is described as a white male, about 21 years of age, 6’1 and 200-pounds with tattoos on both arms.

If you're planning to hit the stores this upcoming holiday weekend, you certainly won't be alone.

Residents around Buffalo are getting ready for the possibility of flooding as several feet of snow that fell last week could quickly melt in nearly 60-degree temperatures that have been forecast. A flood warning is in effect today and trees weakened by heavy snowfall and saturated soil could come crashing down. High wind gusts of up to 60 mph also could topple electrical wires and trigger power outages.

A decision on the future of a Middlesex County animal shelter is expected today.

You've heard the expression no means no.  But does yes mean yes?  New Jersey is the latest state to consider a change in the law in an effort to stem the ride of sexual assaults.  Supporters say it will encourage students to talk more openly about expectations, but many are skeptical

A Morristown investment firm says New Jersey's wealth index has been rising, but there have been bumps along the road.

A New Jersey goose hunter out for the day with his father shot himself in the head and neck this weekend.  He was found dead at the scene.  Police haven't said how he managed to shoot himself.  He and his father were in separate blinds in West Windsor Saturday when the accident occurred.

The suspect in one of the nation's most haunting child disappearances will learn today if his confession can be used at a potential murder trial.  Maple Shade's Pedro Hernandez confessed on video to killing Etan Patz, one of the first missing children ever pictured on a milk carton.  The 6-year-old was last seen may 25, 1979.  A lawyer for Hernandez says his client is mentally ill. And his admissions were imaginary.

It'll cost a bit more to give thanks this year, but still not a big hit to the wallet.

The final weekend before Thanksgiving has passed without a grand jury decision on whether to indict a Ferguson, Missouri police officer in the August shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown. The grand jury met Friday, but apparently did not reach a decision, and if jurors meet today, there's no guarantee they'll reach a decision this week.

If parents know a convicted sex offender lives close to their child's school bus stop they could take steps to protect their kids and police could too. A new and very simple bill would make that information more readily available.

If you watched the Giants game last night, you may have seen Governor Chris Christie but he was not cheering for big blue.  He's a Cowboys fan and was hanging with Dallas owner Jerry Jones for the game.

If you take route 35, be aware a one block section of the road will close later this morning through Point Pleasant.  It will remain closed through the end of the year as part of a sandy reconstruction project.

The days of the payphone are way over, but in several New Jersey towns, you can still find them lining the streets. Most of them have been stripped of the phone itself, and feature only the silver shell and they may be there forever.

A fourth dispensary is now authorized to grow medical marijuana.  The breakwater treatment center in Cranbury will not be ready to sell pot to patients until spring of 2015.  This is the fourth dispensary to get certification from the state.  To date, only 3,400 patients are registered for medical marijuana, far fewer than initial estimates.

We told you about a missing New Brunswick girl this weekend but this morning we can tell you she is safe.  The alert went up after the 12-year old never came back from a walk to a store near her home.  Police wont tell us where she was found, only that she was safe.

Remember sewing and cooking in home-ec class? Well it's evolved over the years to keep up with the changing times.
