Middlesex County prosecutors say 38-year-old Nakoma Jones, of Neptune, is also charged with assault by auto in connection with Sunday's crash in Old Bridge Township. Her bail was set at $160,000 and it wasn't known if she has retained an attorney.

Authorities say Jones was driving eastbound on Route 516 when she crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with another car around 3:35 a.m.

Gustavo Rodriguez, a 30-year-old Neptune resident who was sitting in a rear seat of Jones' vehicle, was killed in the crash. Jones and another passenger were also injured in the accident, as was the driver of the other car.
