A statement from Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew Carey's office says Tanya Choy, 36, of Martinsville, was charged with child endangerment in the death a two-month-old baby at the Above and Beyond Child Care Center.

Police were called to the center and rushed the child to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital instead of waiting for an EMT crew after finding the boy in "distress." He was pronounced dead about 30 minutes later.

An autopsy did not determine a cause of death, according to the prosecutor's office, but the Middlesex County Medical Examiner's Office concluded that the child had been left unattended and that contributed to his death.

Choy is being held on $10,000 bail.

According to the center's website, all full-time staff are certified in CPR and first aid and classrooms are video monitored. Above and Beyond, according to a story linked to their Facebook page, is affiliated with the Highland Park Conservative Temple-Congregation Anshe and reopened in 2010 after a fire at the temple.

Anyone with information is asked to call New Brunswick Police at 732-572-3800, extension 4222 or the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office at (732) 745-3115.
