Prosecutor: Local Officials Should Resolve How Students Get Keys

A New Jersey prosecutor says local officials should figure out how students got keys to a high school that was vandalized earlier this month.

Sixty-three students were arrested May 1 after they were found in Teaneck High School before dawn. Authorities say there was graffiti, debris on the floors and petroleum jelly on doorknobs.

Most of the students now face only disorderly persons offenses and are eligible for a program that could keep their records clean.

But Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli tells The Record (http://bit.ly/1kHbpj7 ) that he is still concerned about how they got into the school.

He says he believes students know but are not saying.

He says they may have taken a master key or gotten it from a staff member either willfully or unwittingly.
