Authorities say a kitchen knife was planted next to a Jersey City man who had been stomped to death on Christmas, allegedly by his three brothers-in-law.

Hudson County Prosecutor Edward DeFazio tells The Jersey Journal Jorge Alvendia may have been killed after telling the suspects to move out of his home. The prosecutor says there is no evidence that the victim was armed.

He says that at least some of the men had been drinking.

Brothers Elieser, Francis and Wilfred Paet are charged with murder. Each is being held on $500,000 cash-only bails.
