A school community is sending good thoughts and prayers to the a 15-year-old who was struck by a car as she crossed Route 42 in Washington Township on Saturday night.

Officers for the freshman class at Timber Creek Regional High School tweeted out requests for prayers on Sunday, referring to the girl as Gavyn Connolly, the same name appearing in multiple media reports.

A spokeswoman for the superintendent's office for the Black Horse Pike Regional School District said the family has requested no details be released about her condition or circumstances. Cooper University Trauma Center would not update her condition.

Washington Township Police said Connolly was struck on Saturday night around 8 p.m. as she crossed the highway near Shoppers Lane. Police Captain Dennis Simms said investigators are still trying to piece together whether Connolly was at a carnival across the street and to establish timeline of events surrounding the incident.

Simms said his department has not been notified of any change in Connolly's condition.

Simms said no charges have been filed against the 21-year-old driver of a 2011 Toyota Yaris that police said struck Connolly.
