Acting Union County Prosecutor Grace Park said 24-year-old Zachary Cohen of Edison Township must serve at least three years of the term imposed Friday before he becomes eligible for parole. He also will have to serve five years of probation once he's freed from prison.

Cohen was arrested last August, after he and a woman went to the Linden post office to pick up the package. The arrest culminated a joint investigation by the Postal Service and Linden police.

Cohen pleaded guilty last October to a second-degree drug possession charges.

Authorities have not said from where in California the package was mailed.
