Port Authority of New York and New Jersey chairman John Degnan said Thursday that bus gates in the terminal will be realigned to ease traffic flow. Most New Jersey Transit buses will be consolidated at gates on the third floor and most Coach USA bus routes will be consolidated on the fourth floor.

Degnan said at Thursday's board meeting the realignment will be launched in early September.

The Port Authority has been criticized for not including a new bus terminal in its 10-year capital plan. The current one dates to the 1950s and is the busiest in the country.
