Port Authority Conducts Drill At Newark Airport
The smoke and extra activity you see today at Newark Liberty International Airport is only a test .
The Port Authority is conducting a full scale emergency a full-scale emergency response between 10a.m. and 12:30 p.m. that will create smoke, loud noises and the sight of emergency vehicles at the airport.
The exercise will take place in Terminal B (third level) and at the north end of the terminal’s security checkpoint and corridor. The exercise is part of the agency’s ongoing drills which the Port Authority Police Department says will enable it along with agency personnel and other emergency responders to validate and enhance emergency response procedures.
