Who says a politician won't do anything for votes?  This is a story that has a NJ politician written all over it but shockingly it did not happen in NJ. Texas Republican Dave Wilson had to go to such great lengths to beat the local "system" that he ran under the guise that he was black man in order to get voters to listen to what his platform was and raise awareness about his campaign. Wilson even went as far as to say he was endorsed by "Ron Wilson," which most voters would have taken as a long-time state representative, who is also African-American. But the Ron Wilson that this was, wasn't the long-time state rep and rather, Ron Wilson was Dave's cousin, who lived in Kansas!
