The Daily Record of Parsippay says no injuries were reported in the single-vehicle crash, which occurred shortly before 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in Boonton Township. Authorities say the teen's car apparently drifted in to an oncoming lane and struck a guardrail before running off the roadway.

The Butler teen told police that he had smoked marijuana about 30 minutes earlier. He's charged with driving under the influence of drugs and also received numerous motor vehicle citations.

A 16-year-old passenger was also found to be under the influence of marijuana, but will be allowed to enter a diversionary program.
