Police seek south Jersey jewelry theft victims
New Jersey State Police are looking for victims of a woman who stole thousands of dollars worth of jewelry from homes in Burlington County.
Melissa Hirschmann, 42, of Medford was arrested in Bordentown in April for stealing $2,000 worth of jewelry from a Hainsport home. Authorities have connected her to a number of jewelry thefts from the past several years. Hirschmann is also a suspect in the theft of $11,000 worth of jewelry from a Shamong home.
Police say that in at least one case, Hirschmann worked as a pet sitter for one of her victims and then sold the jewelry to several pawn shops.
Police are asking for anyone who hired Hirschmann as a pet sitter in the past 2 years to call the Red Lion bureau of the state police at 609-859-2282,
