Police Say Man Had AK-47,Drugs at His Home
Police in south Jersey say they found an AK-47 assault rifle along with other firearms and 19 pounds of marijuana in the home of a man after he mentioned having a gun following a meeting at a high school.
Police say a teacher at Timber Creek High School in Gloucester Township heard Michael Shaffer mention that he had a gun in his car. The teacher told a police officer posted in the school and a search was set off.
Officials tell the Courier-Post the 55-year-old was in the school Thursday morning for a meeting. They say no students or school staff were in danger.
Shaffer is being held in Camden County Jail with bail set at $110,000 on weapons and drug charges.
