NJ.com reports that police were investigating an abandoned Dodge in the area at around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday when police say a man's body was found below the overpass.

State Police Capt. Stephen Jones says that the body was in a barren, fenced-in area below the roadway.

Jones says the man's death is being investigated as a possible suicide.

Police say the man is believed to be in his 30s and from Hudson County. His identity has not been released.

The Essex County medical examiner's office will determine the cause of death.
