Troutdale police Chief Scott Anderson said Tuesday in a news conference that the 14-year-old victim was a freshman at Reynolds High School who was killed in the boys' locker room.

Anderson says Emilio Hoffman was "loved by all."

He said earlier the name of the gunman is being withheld until his family is notified.

Police spotted the suspected shooter slumped on a toilet in a bathroom

The teacher's injuries weren't life-threatening, and he was treated at the scene. He has been identified as Todd Rispler, a 50-year-old physical education instructor, and police say he initiated the school lockdown procedure.
