Authorities have identified a man who was seriously injured in a hit-and-run accident Saturday in Haddon Township, and have released the name of the driver who fled after the collision.

Police say Felemone Negrete-Ponce, 35, of Camden struck by a car while riding his bicycle in the area of Black Horse Pike and Pershing Avenue Saturday at 12:05 a.m. He was transported to Cooper University Hospital where he underwent surgery and is still listed in critical condition, according to Camden County authorities.

The driver of the vehicle, Richard Bennett, 68, of Haddon Heights went to the Haddon Heights Police Department at approximately 6 a.m. Saturday and told officer that he believed he had struck someone with his vehicle on the Black Horse Pike hours earlier, authorities said.

Bennett was placed under arrest and charged with leaving the scene of an accident with serious bodily injury as well as endangering an injured victim. He later posted bail and was released, according to police.
