A 24 Point Pleasant Beach man is accused of stabbing another man to death Wednesday.

Anthony Strong, 24, of Trenton Avenue has is facing murder and weapon charges in connection with the death of Frank A. Campagna, 41, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said.

The office hasn't said what the relationship between the two men was, or what prompted an altercation between them. Both lived in different apartments at the same main address.

According to the prosecutor's office, police went to Campagna's apartment at 11:45 p.m. after a 911 call from a resident who reported hearing a commotion inside.

Once there, they encountered Strong near Campagna's apartment with what appeared to be blood on Strong’s clothing, the prosecutor's office said. Campagna was discovered inside his apartment unresponsive, lying on the floor, with apparent stab wounds and a knife near his body, the prosecutor's office said.

Anthony Strong was arrested and charged with murder, possession of a weapon (the knife) for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a knife and certain persons not to have weapons. His bail was set at $500,000 cash only by the Judge Joseph L. Foster.
