Plainfield Dad Indicted on Murder Charge in Infant

A northern New Jersey dad accused of fatally beating his 3-month-old son earlier this year has been indicted on murder charges.

The indictment against 35-year-old Michael Bell of Plainfield was handed up Friday by a Union County grand jury. It was made public on Monday.

The child, Zino Bell, died in May, about three days after he was found injured at his family's home. Prosecutors have said the child suffered fractures and internal bleeding.

Michael Bell was arrested a few days later as he allegedly tried to flee the state. He was found in Newark, aboard a bus headed for the Midwest.
