Kevin Shelton and his 5-year-old son, Cole were killed in the accident that closed the highway for  several hours on Wednesday morning. State Police report that neither Cole nor his 3 year old sister Cassidy, who remains hospitalized, were correctly strapped into their child safety seats according to WCAU TV.

Kevin's red Pontiac crossed  lanes into the path of a tractor trailer on the way to a babysitter.  "It seems more the driver was distracted possibly by something," said state Trooper Jason Pasqua.

The unidentified driver of the truck was not injured.
