You tell me!

We hear too many stories like the ones that had taken place in Lambertville and Lakewood, where kids were attacked by dogs that were a mixed breed of pit bull and something else.

Still, it’s the fact that pits are involved should have you concerned.

Although, I know there are at least a few of you that have very docile pit bulls.

A 3-year-old pit bull/lab mixed breed dog was put down after biting a 2-year-old girl on Monday, city police reported.

After the attack on Feb. 11 the city's animal control officer took control of the dog and it was later killed, they said.

The victim was in her grandparents’ living room with the dog, while her father and other family members were in the kitchen when the dog apparently attacked the girl, according to police.

She suffered puncture wounds to her lower and upper lips, her head, and face, police said, and was taken to a hospital in Trenton and then transferred to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Police said that the girl underwent surgery and is expected to fully recover.

And this in Lakewood, where a 10-month-old girl remains in serious condition after vicious dog bite…

A 10-month-old girl suffered life-threatening injuries after a dog locked the infant in its jaws Saturday evening in a Central Avenue home, police said.

The dog, which is either a bulldog or pitbull, inflicted deep lacerations near the girl’s left ear, rear head and neck, Sgt. Glenn Clayton said.

The mother of the girl told police she was sitting in the living room while the girl was playing with the dog on the floor. The dog unexpectedly lunged at the girl around 8:30 p.m., Clayton said.

The dog does not belong to the girl’s parents. However, police do not know why the dog was with the mother and daughter, Clayton said.

The girl was flown by helicopter to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune Township, Clayton said.

Please, for the love of God, tell me again how docile your pit bull is!

Maybe it’s me, but I’m convinced they’re a killing machine waiting to happen!
