The Flyers lost another defenseman during the off-season, this one to injury, when  Andrej Maszaros tore his right Achilies tendon training in Slovakia and could miss the entire season.

Paul Holmgren released a statement early Tuesday morning regarding an injury sustained by Flyers defenseman Andrej Meszaros:
"Andrej had successful surgery this morning to repair a torn right achilles tendon. The surgery was performed by Dr. Steve Raikin at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia. Andrej was injured last week during summer training in Slovakia. Andrej will be out indefinitely."

This would be another huge loss for the Flyers.

The bad luck comes on the heels of the Flyers losing out on restricted free agent defenseman Shea Weber after the Nashville Predators matched the Flyers' offer sheet and retained Weber.
