A fisherman spotted the body this morning near a pier across from High Street as the search resumed according to the Star Ledger.

The men saw the children, age 7 and 11,  were starting to go under the water near Sadowsky Parkway in Perth Amboy on Wednesday night.

The area is posted as "no swim" because of strong currents created because it is close to the Atlantic Ocean.

An official tells WNBC-TV one of the men rescued the children but the other Good Samaritan disappeared. WABC TV reports the man is related to the children but the exact nature of the relationship is not known.

The station reports the search is now a recovery mission although there is a small chance the man got out of the water away from the area.

Perth Amboy Police were assisted by the Coast Guard and the NYPD in the search
