New Jersey Residents only. Contestants must provide own music on CD without vocal tracks; background vocals are acceptable. (Certain cds recorded or downloaded from home computers may not be suitable for the sound system provided at contest. It is suggested an additional copy of the cd made available the day of the performance.) No leading vocals. No cassettes. No lip synching. No more than 2 performers for any act. Acts are limited to 2 minutes 30 seconds.

In the interest of repetitiveness, no Patriotic songs such as the "Star Spangled Banner" & "God Bless America." Only one performance for the season. New Jersey 101.5 WKXW will schedule all performances and notify contestants of the performance dates. All scheduled contestant must be present and check in by 6:30pm sharp day of the show. Failure to show up by 6:30pm forfeits contestant participating for that scheduled show.

Walk-ups are welcome on a first come first serve basis and are available if a contestant(s) from their category does not show up.  Walk-ups from the individual category are filled first then other categories are added with a maximum number of contestants each week being 15.  No exceptions. If a contestant(s) is scheduled to show up and fails to show for competition, the contestant(s) forfeits his/her position in the contest, and can only compete if an upcoming week is available.

Cell phone numbers will be required to contact the performers in case of last minute changes. The cell phone number of a parent/guardian of any performers under 18 is required. In the event of rain we'll clear another night of the week with Jenkinson's to hold the contest. We will post the rain date next to the scheduled date so that contestants know the rain date is listed and failure to show up for the rain date forfeits the contestants' position.
New Jersey 101.5 WKXW reserves the right to exclude any contestant(s) deemed unacceptable or inappropriate. No Bands. One winner from each category will be chosen each week to move on to compete in the Finals. Prizes, including qualifying and grand prizes, will be limited to one per group or act. All decisions of New Jersey 101.5 FM Radio, including judging of all qualifying performances and final competitions, is final. New Jersey 101.5 station management reserves the right to change or amend the rules concerning contestant participation of the Big Joe Talent Show at any time.
By participating in the "New Jersey 101.5 Big Joe Jersey Talent Show,” contestants agree to conform to the above rules as well as those stated in the Millennium Radio Group, LLC
