Penn State Trustees Pledge Better Oversight [VIDEO]

Penn State Board of Trustees chairwoman Karen Peetz says the board is committed to a more "active, structured and robust oversight role" in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky scandal.

Peetz opened a board meeting Friday by addressing a report from former FBI Director Louis Freeh that showed Penn State coach Joe Paterno and top administrators concealed child sexual abuse allegation against Sandusky to shield the school from bad publicity.

Freeh also found the trustees failed to exercise oversight over former President Graham Spanier and other administrators and failed to probe deeply enough when they learned that Sandusky was the subject of a grand jury investigation.

Peetz says the board "accepts full responsibility" for its failings and that Freeh's report will "result in changes, beginning here, beginning today."
