A man was fatally struck by a car in Long Branch on Friday night, police said.

NJ.com reported that the pedestrian, who has not been identified, was on Ocean Boulevard when he was struck, according to Long Branch police.  Little information was released about the accident, which Public Safety Director Jason Roebuck said happened at 9:57 p.m., according to the report. The driver of the vehicle, who was not identified, stopped after the crash, authorities said.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office's Serious Collision Analysis Response Team is handling the investigation, Roebuck said.
