Have you ever bought a jersey of your favorite player only to have him leave the team?

The New England Patriots have a solution for such a dilemma, as they become the first team to offer rebates to anyone who buys a jersey of a player who is no longer under contract to the team within a year of the purchase.

This is a win-win as the fan gets a current jersey and the team doesn’t have to be reminded of the old player when his jersey still appears in the stands. Imagine how much it would cost the Eagles if they had this policy with Desean Jackson leaving.

If you had the choice, would you trade in your favorite players jersey for a current one when he leaves the team or stay with the outdated garment? What former players jerseys did you wear?
