Patrick Hobbs, a dean emeritus of Seton Hall University School of Law, is expected to take over for Julie Hermann after she was forced to resign Sunday as Rutgers' athletic director, according to a report by New Jersey Advance Media.

The report, citing an anonymous source, said Hobbs would be made permanent AD — unlike in 2010, when he took over for Seton Halls own troubled program as an interim AD.

As the report notes, last year, Hobbs stepped down from his full-time post as dean of Seton Hall's law school to serve as ombudsman in the governor's office following the Bridgegate scandal.

Hermann was forced to resign Sunday, the same day Rutgers Football head coach Kyle Flood was reportedly fired following a scandal-ridden 4-8 season.

Rutgers officials had not yet formally commented on any of the reported changes as of mid-Sunday afternoon.

Rutgers has made headlines more for its scandals than its rare wins this season, after several players were charged in an alleged series of violent break-ins and an alleged unprovoked attack against a student.

Star player Leonte Carroo missed games while facing charges — later dismissed — related to a hectic brawl outside of a game. He has since been reinstated.

NJ Advance Media has reported the university's office of enterprise risk management, ethics and compliance has been investigating allegations of failed drug tests and other issues, citing unnamed sources.

The reported firings come one day after the Rutgers Scarlett Knights football season ended after a 4-8 season.

Flood is 27-24 in four seasons at Rutgers, including bowl appearances in his first three. Hermann took over in 2013 after the Mike Rice scandal led to Tim Pernetti's firing.
