Police are searching for an escaped patient from the Trenton Psychiatric Hospital who is considered dangerous, according to an alert from the Ewing Police Department.

The patient, Tyrik Haynes, 22, is described as a light skinned black male, who is 6 feet tall and 265 lbs., according to a statement on the Ewing Township website. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and grey sweat pants on the grounds of the Trenton Psychiatric Hospital in Ewing.

"This individual should be considered dangerous, and if seen please call 911 immediately," the post on the township's website said.

Haynes was indicted for stabbing a woman he did not know at a Bed, Bath and Beyond store in Middletown in 2013. He was 19 at the time.

The alert was posted on the township's website Saturday, but it does not say when authorities believe Haynes escaped.

Human Services Police would not answer additional questions about the escapee on Sunday morning.
