Police are investigating the death of a 49-year-old Paterson man who was found with multiple stab wounds in the basement of a home Saturday.

According to a statement by Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes Wesley Holmes was discovered at 5:40 a.m. in a basement bedroom on East 16th Street. Police say the victim was transported to St. Joseph’s Medical Center where he succumbed to his wounds at 6:48 a.m.

Police did not release any additional information and authorities say the investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made.
