State Police say 23-year-old Savion Clark of Paterson was also driving with a suspended license when the crash occurred early Sunday near milemarker 131.1 in Woodbridge Township.

Gail Webster, a 21-year-old Passaic resident who was sitting in the back seat, was killed in the accident. Clark and 20-year-old Jashonna Harris of Passaic, a front-seat passenger, were both injured.

Authorities say Clark lost control of the southbound vehicle, which crossed over the center median and entered the northbound side of the highway, where it struck an overpass.

It wasn't known Tuesday if Clark has retained an attorney.
