It's not known what caused the student to collapse on the turf at Pascack Hills High School in Montvale on Wednesday.

Superintendent Erik Gundersen tells The Record newspaper coaches and a former student who is an EMT began performing CPR when they noticed the boy wasn't breathing. He was breathing on his own before he was taken to a hospital.
