Part of an iconic Jersey Shore restaurant fell to the ground Monday night, according to Monmouth County Police, Fire and EMS.

Emergency services reported on their Facebook page that part of "the original WindMill in West End has fallen off the structure." The message was posted just after 10 p.m. and indicated that emergency services were responding to the scene. At about 11:27 p.m., Monmouth County Police, Fire and EMS updated their post, stating that the portion of the windmill that fell was removed from the roadway and the establishment was closed for the evening.

The actual windmill - a landmark on Ocean Boulevard for years - fell off the structure, according to the Asbury Park Press. Long Branch Police Sgt. Brian Garrett told app.com that no one was injured when windmill separated from original structure and fell to the ground.

The WindMill is a franchise that has seven locations in Brick, Freehold, Red Bank, Belmar, North Long Branch, Ocean Grove and West End Long Branch. The restaurant has been serving hot dogs at the Ocean Boulevard location since 1963.
