Parking Lot Brawl Ends with Shooting
WINSLOW TOWNSHIP (AP) — A fight in a south Jersey convenience store parking lot ended with one man shot and another under arrest following a police pursuit.
The Courier-Post reports the shooting in Winslow Township occurred around 2:30 a.m. Sunday.
Authorities say 36-year-old Lameen Adams of Lindenwold and a 26-year-old Glassboro man were fighting when Adams allegedly shot the other man in the leg.
A police officer soon arrived and saw a car speeding away. He tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver kept going and allegedly threw a handgun out the window.
The driver, identified as Adams, eventually stopped his car. He's charged with aggravated assault, hindering arrest and multiple weapons offenses.
Adams' bail was set at $100,000 and it wasn't known if he's retained an attorney.
