Parents confront Hamilton officials over enterovirus death
Angry residents packed the Township Council meeting Tuesday night in Hamilton, where four-year-old Eli Waller died of Enterovirus D-68.
Town health officer Jeff Plunket was the target of harsh criticism by parents at the meeting. He listened quietly through most of the session but then delivered an emotional response.
Plunket told the group that one of Eli's teachers in the Yardville Elementary preschool class was his wife. "That child sat on my wife's lap every morning," said Plunket, according to the Times of Trenton. "If I had any concern, it would have taken priority."
