Authorities say a Paramus man has been charged with possession and intent to distribute $3,500 worth of drugs including marijuana and suspected steroids.

Dustin Schwarz, 23, was arrested following an investigation by the Bergen County Narcotics Task Force, authorities said Wednesday. Police said the Paramus man was charged with one count of possession with the intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana) in a quantity greater than 1 ounce but less than 5 pounds, and one count of possession with the intent to distribute marijuana within 1,000 feet of the Palisades Learning Center.

According to a statement by the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office, on May 9, police located and seized more than a pound of marijuana and suspected steroids. Authorities say an investigation revealed that Schwarz was allegedly involved in the distribution of controlled dangerous substances in the area of Paramus. The approximate street value of the CDS seized on this date is $3,500.

Authorities say Schwarz was arrested and released with a summons pending a future court date.
