PA Fire That Killed Union Woman Likely Accidental
State police in northeastern Pennsylvania say a fire that killed a New Jersey woman is believed to have been accidental.
Police in Pike County say the blaze in Lackawaxen Township was reported shortly before 9:30 p.m. Monday.
Firefighters said the body of a 53-year-old woman from Union, N.J., was found under a pile of debris in a first-floor bedroom.
Police said the blaze appeared to have been accidental and started by a wood burner in the basement.
The Pike County coroner's office said Tuesday that the victim's name was being withheld pending notification of relatives.
